What would you say is the greatest love? I learned at a very young age that the greatest love came from our Heavenly Father who gave His Son Christ Jesus to all who would except him. Christ knew before he even came to earth what was going to happen and yet he came to save us all from the sin that was brought into being due to Adam and Eve choosing to listen to the serpent.
GOD gives us free will and by doing so we all have a choice of which side of the fence we are going to be on. On one side of the fence, we have the peace even when times get hard and on the other side of the fence, we have distress. Walking on GOD’s side of the fence isn’t always easy however we don’t have to walk by ourselves. When someone decides to follow Jesus and live their lives according to the will of GOD there are people that will do all they can to hinder that walk. They will remind that person of all the things that has been done wrong and tell that person that there is no way GOD can accept the person however that is not the case. When a person repents of their sins and ask Christ Jesus into their heart whatever was done before that time is removed. That is why Jesus says a person must be born again and accept him as their Savior in order to get to heaven.
There once was a man that lived down the road from the house that I lived in as a child that was the kind of person that most would stay far away from and even Christians believed he would never change from his evil ways. My grandfather who was a minister never stopped going over to his house and talking to him even though this man was mean and like to throw things at anyone who brought up GOD, Jesus and their love. This went on for many years however there can a day when things changed. The man found Christ when he was in his 60’s which for him was close to the end of his life. One day he got sick from all the alcohol that he had consumer over the years, and he ended up in the hospital. He didn’t allow that to stop him from sharing what Jesus had done for him and how much Jesus and the Father loves us. He went all through the hospital encouraging everyone and when he was asked why he was doing this when he was so sick, he would say ” I spent too much of my life making people miserable and now I want to spend what time I have left sharing the gospel that saved a retch like me”. He was called home to be with GOD six years later and in those last years he was the happiest I had ever seen and the most at peace that he had ever been.
